Review of Barista Bath and Body Products, Made With Real Coffee

This Barista Wants to Be in Your Shower

If you love coffee, or even just the scent of it, let me introduce you to the Barista Bath and Body (B3) line of products. Launched just a few months ago by three businesswomen (a mother, daughter, and niece), unlike many other "coffee-scented" hair and body lines, the B3 products actually do contain the real deal. Free of parabens, sulfates, and phthalates, it features organic, fair trade coffee, coffee seed oil, coffee extract, or ground coffee within the brand's eight core offerings. Why coffee, you ask? Not only is it a stimulating ingredient, but its acidic pH balance is also similar to our own hair and skin. To find out more about this caffeinated brand, along with a review of a few of the products, just keep reading.

While some products pack more of a java-jolted scent than others, others are mild with a slight essence of a cup of joe. The Perk It Up Energizing Shampoo ($6.50 to $40), a heavy-on-the-coffee aroma, has an astringent-like quality to it and would be perfect for oilier scalps. Its natural pair, the Soothe Those Jitters Moisturizing Conditioner ($7.50 to $45), is emollient but not heavy and has a pleasant earthy-floral scent.

Triple Shot 3-in-1 Coffee Shower Gel ($6.50 to $38) turned out to be my favorite of the bunch, with a pure, rich coffee-like smell that fades into a whisper of a sweet scent by day's end. Let's just say you won't get that dank smell coffee beans get after sitting out in your machine for a few days. If you're not so sure about what you'd like, try one of the six different gift sets ($22.50 to $150), but the cleverly named Room For Cream Body Creme ($8 to $22) and One Lump or Two Body Scrub ($28 to $84) are pretty hard to resist.

This is more like it. A beauty product line mentioned on this site I would actually use do to a pretty clean ingredient list. Usually I am aware of new natural lines however not this particular one which sort-of surprises me as the products sound lovely. I want the lip balm, stat! ;)

I'm with pharm_chick. Fresh brewing coffee is one of the most delightful smells in the world, but if I smelled like it all day, I'm not sure I'd be a fan. They probably smell great, but this is one of those situations where too much of a good thing is a bad thing.

i love the smell of coffee brewing in the morning, but i think i would get sick if i had to smell it on me all day. like the time it spilled on me in the morning and had to wait to get home to change. not a fan of that lol
