Revlon Glitter Nail Polish: Facets of Fuchsia

Manicure Monday: A $4 Polish That Dazzles and Delights

We'll be straight with you: The first coat of Revlon's Facets of Fuchsia nail polish ($4) isn't nearly as pretty as the polish in the bottle. Instead of a trippy space-odyssey purple glittersplosion, it's a sheer black with bits of sparkle. Stick with it for two more coats, though, and you'll be rewarded with layers of hexagonal and fine glitter over a black jelly base. In a word: gorgeous. It's part of Revlon's limited-edition Expressionists makeup collection, which also features glittery pale pink and blue polishes in the same vein. Like all glitter polishes, this one takes some work to remove, but it's so pretty that you won't mind.

@cecilia, that settles it. This is clearly the way to go.

This polish is amazing... I'm wearing it today actually! I used black as a base, then 2 coats of this polish.

ok i love these polishes. One or two coat just doesn't do it though. I put around five coats! It's a pain to remove them..But I love how they look!

Dashsuede, Erica, sorry, I didn't have time to re-apply and take a picture — just too much going on yesterday! In general I can't figure out how to take manicure photos that look as nice as I want them to look, so if it's between a pretty bottle shot and a so-so "on the nails" shot, I like the bottle shot. Nikki, that's a good idea. I just used a clear base coat, but next time I might layer black before a coat of Facets of Fuchsia. And yes, I agree, it *is* very similar-looking to Bad Romance.

I have this polish also and the way I remove it is soak cotton balls with nail polish remover, place the cotton balls on my nails and use aluminum foil to secure it on my nails and leave it on for about ten minutes. After that time has passed, it comes off pretty easy.

I own this nail polish as well. Like ModernGraceKelly pointed out, it is a bit of a struggle to remove. I find it is an easier wear, aka to remove, if you do a deep purple underneath the glitter. You need less coats of glitter to achieve that dark sparkle look.

It is a dupe for Bad Romance, but it is also impossible to get off. I used 100% acetone to try to get the hexagon glitter off my nails. It still gave me grief. I find it harder to remove than most glitters. Just a warning! It's beautiful though.

this reminds me of Deborah Lippmann's Bad Romance. It looks cool! I agree with dashsuede that a swatch would be great!
