Before face oils became such a hot category that even drugstore brands started creating them, Linda Rodin launched the OG Rodin Olio Lusso version in 2007. The line has since expanded to include body oil, hand cream, and even a nourishing lip balm. This month, in addition to new lavender-scented face and body oils, Linda is adding five lipsticks to her offering. And in my opinion, these may just be the best-smelling, most luxurious lipsticks out there.

"My mother always wore lipstick so I was inspired by her," Linda told me via email on why she decided to branch into this makeup category.

After testing them, I noticed they were extremely longwear. My hot-pink pout lasted well into a balmy Summer dinner. The color is matte, but can be sheered out into a stain or layered on for a pigmented pop. And as I mentioned, they smell heavenly! Thanks to a mix of the iconic jasmine and neroli olio lusso blend, they are reminiscent of the hero oil product. They also contain rose flower, lavender wax, and vitamins C and E, as well as apricot, argan, and meadowfoam seed oils. So they are making your lips more nourished while you wear them.

When it came to shade choices, the beauty icon chose five hues influenced by her own style. "I picked what for me are the classics," she said. "I only wear these colors." And unlike other brands that constantly add new iterations, she plans to keep it to this minimal yet comprehensive lipstick wardrobe for now.

The packaging cannot be overlooked either. The bold shades — hot pink and deep berry are two of my favorites — are showcased in a clear container. "My lip balm is also in a lucite package," she explained of this design decision. "So I want to continue my lip care with lucite. And it's easy to see the colors, of course."

Though she doesn't plan to add new shades soon, she did hint that lip liners are coming. She noted, "I always apply a lip pencil first, and then apply the lipstick on top. My lip pencils in colors matching my lipsticks will be available soon."
