We're all Irish on St. Patrick's Day, yes? Well, if you want to give your digits the full-on green and gold St. Paddy's Day treatment but were absent the day nail art skills were handed out, this tutorial is for you. Forget brushes and striper polishes. All you need for this simple yet eye-catching design is a dotting tool or bobby pin. And who doesn't have a bobby pin somewhere in their vanity?
What You Need
Doesn't Ziv scream "pot o' gold" with its metallic flecks? You would think a leprechaun was hiding it at the end of the rainbow.
Step 1: Apply green nail polish (Zoya Holly) to all nails except your ring finger. On your ringer finger, apply the gold (Zoya Ziv). Wait for the polish to dry.
Step 2: Pour out a bit of green nail polish onto a thick paper plate, piece of card stock, etc. Then dip your dotting tool into the polish, and place a dot at the side of the nail, just off center.
Step 3: Place another dot just next to the first dot, and drag it slightly toward the center and up to the first dot, creating a heart.
Step 4: Repeat step three to create three more four-leaf clover petals. Wait 10 minutes to dry before floating topcoat over the design, to prevent smudging.
Easy, right? If you want to amp it up even more, consider adding a gold-leaf-esque topcoat over the green, like Zoya Nail Polish in Maria-Luisa ($9). Who is going to try this for St. Paddy's Day?
