Should You Tell Someone When Her Makeup is "Off"?

Should You Tell Someone When Her Makeup is "Off"?

The oddest thing about Paris Hilton's lipstick smudges is that nobody told her she had lipstick on her teeth! I know she's not a unanimous shoo-in for the "Most Beloved Celebrity" award, but still, couldn't someone have said something?

This got me thinking about grooming etiquette. Is it polite to discreetly mention a makeup mishap to someone, or is it rude to point that sort of thing out?

When I know the person, yes! When I don't know them, then no.

I'm one of those people that will tell you if you have food in your teeth, lipstick on your teeth. I'm quite frank and would tell someone if they had something that looked odd on their face or their skirt in their nickers

It depends on the person and how much we close, i would tell and want people to tell me. This winter, in a snowy day, i woke up, did my makeup and go out for work, i think my mascara hadn't dried enough and snow made it more "liquid" :P When i arrived to the office, i realized that my whole face was black :O full of mascara, i was looking like a zombie  i saw many people and no one did tell until i see :IRK: So it's a bad thing not to tell a girl something like that

I would be pissed if my a person who i thought was my friend didn't let me know that my makeup was "off". I would start to believe they weren't looking out for me and just wanted to make fun of me behind my back because of it or something. I would tell a friend if her makeup looked a little smudged or whatnot so she should do the same for me.

I always let someone know if their eyeliner is smudging or they have lipstick on their teeth or stuff like that. And someties if you can see their 'foundation line'. I have this friend she puts eyeliner under her lower lashes (but not on top) and she has tiny eyes, I mean TINY, and they have almost no lids and she has those sort of bags under her eyes when she laughs. So the mascara and the eyeline smudge like crazy and she always looks gross. Anyway we saw her without makeup once and I swear I could not believe how fresh faced she looked. With makeup she looks like she's just woken up after a loooong night of partying when she didn't bother to remove her makeup.

it all depends on whether the person is a friend of yours!

I like it when people tell me my eyeliner is smudged or my lipstick is on my teeth or something like that. I do it for other people when it's appropriate.

If its something that can be fixed right away, then YES! No matter if its makeup, or whatever... but if they can't fix it (can't think of anything off the top) you wait until later (like dark undies under a light skirt)

If, it's a really close friend, my Mom, or my sister...yes, I would definitely tell them. But, for the other women I see..I tell them if they have lipstick on their teeth, mascara flake on their cheek, anything basically that is not supposed to be there.

I would tell my friends if it was something obvious like lipstick on their teeth, foundation in their eyebrows, or a really noticeable line on their chin...but as far as wrong colors and whatnot I won't go there!

Ya theres nothing wrong with doing it, there is something wrong with not doing it. If I had it I'd want someone to tell me and I'd be angry if they didn't. I mean what kind of person let's you walk around unknowingly look like a fool. Ok so sometimes people do some crazy things with makeup and just maybe you'll point out something intentional, but typically it's noticeable if it's intentional or unintentional.

I work at a doctor's clinic, where a lot of the patients are women. I started keeping makeup wipes and the q-tip-thingies that fix smeared eye makeup in the restroom and women are SOOOO appreciative b/c it's convenient and accessable.

I would tell my best friend or boss but not any "random jane". And I would tell them nicely and sweetly plus in enough to fix it before the big meeting/playdate/etc.

I think it's rude not to tell someone they've got lipstick on their teeth, just like it'd be rude not to tell someone they've got a booger hanging out their nose! Especially if it's a good friend -- you wouldn't want her embarassing herself. She might have an important job meeting or date after seeing you.

*~*I would have to tell the person (if they were a friend or family member, not some random person!! lol). Only because I would want someone to tell me if mine was off!!*~*
