When you think of New York Fashion Week, you probably associate it with emerging beauty and fashion trends, and that's absolutely correct. However, what you may not know is that new products emerge backstage as well.

Sometimes they're brand-new launches that have just recently hit the shelves, and other times the products are still months away from being released to the public. That includes new makeup, nail polishes, skin essentials, and hair care products that are used on the models to complete their runway looks.

Today we're revealing — and giving you the rundown on — some of the most exciting, up-and-coming products we discovered while in the backstage trenches. Expect everything from colorful new Maybelline mascara to Victoria Beckham's latest makeup collaboration.

R+Co Trophy, Sail, and Wall Street

The hair goal backstage at Anna Sui R+Co was to create a "'40s, but in a new way" vibe for all the models, said Garren, the lead hairstylist and ambassador for R+Co. Depending on hair length and type, each girl wore a unique hairstyle that required different products from the line. Women with longer hair wore a "kind of Mickey Mouse twirl with pieces in the front, which would be rolled in the '40s, but we wanted it to look 'today,'" Garren said.

Three of the products hairstylists used were brand new to the line, including Sail, Trophy, and Wall Street, all of which will launch in March this year. Sail is a soft wave spray ideal for the midshaft and ends of hair, Trophy is a finishing spray that adds just a little shine (but not too much!) along with texture, and Wall Street is a strong-hold gel.

Estée Lauder x Victoria Beckham

Estée Lauder x Victoria Beckham

Makeup at the Victoria Beckham show was "all about beautiful skin," the designer said in a press release. The goal was to create a luminous base that was accented with neutral, pretty colors. To execute this look, makeup artists used products from the Estée Lauder and Victoria Beckham makeup collaboration collection, which will launch in March 2017, as well as a couple hush-hush products that will debut at a later date.

From the collection that's debuting in March, they used the Morning Aura Illuminating Creme; Modern Mercury Highlighter on cheeks, nose bridge, brow bone, inner eye corners, and cupid's bow; and Eye Kajal Duo in Black Saffron/Vanille. The newest products are still seriously under wraps, but we can tell you that they include a gray eye shadow that was applied in a sheer wash across the lids, which Victoria Beckham called the "fashion shade." Another new product that the models wore was a nude, light pink lipstick that was dabbed onto the lips for an imperfect finish.

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara in Royal Blue

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara in Royal Blue

With its pink-and-green packaging that hasn't seen much change for decades, Maybelline Great Lash is arguably one of the most iconic mascaras of all time. You can imagine the excitement, then, when the Great Lash in Royal Blue made an appearance backstage at Jason Wu.

Maybelline Global Ambassador Yadim said makeup artists were using the blue mascara only on the ends of lashes. "They didn't want it to feel too cosmetic," he said backstage while applying the mascara. "[Jason Wu] wanted something else added to the face, but [he] didn't want it to be such a beauty look since the red lip is already so intense."

Royal Blue was in circulation back in 2014 but was discontinued, resulting in heartache within the beauty community. Fun fact: there are only a couple of the Royal Blue Great Lash mascaras in existence at the moment, and makeup artists had to share this single tube backstage (don't worry, they used a clean wand on each model). The product will officially be made available to the public in May, though, so no more sharing after that!

Deborah Lippmann Marshmallow Whipped Hand & Cuticle Scrub

Deborah Lippmann Marshmallow Whipped Hand & Cuticle Scrub

"Similar to exfoliating the face regularly, you need to treat hands and cuticles the same way," said Deborah Lippmann, founder of the eponymous nail polish and product line. Her new Marshmallow Whipped Hand & Cuticle Scrub ($29), which just launched in January 2017, was used to prep all the models' hands at numerous shows throughout NYFW, including Kate Spade, Badgley Mischka, and Jason Wu.

The nourishing hand exfoliator contains both AHA and BHA and a biodegradable ash, a powerful combo that gets rid of dead skin cells, smooths rough cuticles, and tones the skin. The product gets its name from the marshmallow root extract, which further helps to soothe irritated skin.

REN Clean Skincare Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask

REN Clean Skincare Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask

Backstage at Alice + Olivia, models got the dreamiest, most romantic makeovers. REN Clean Skincare experts were there to lay the foundation for the aforementioned, and they did so with a concoction of products from the line. Those include the beauty shots, protection cream, and the brand's most recent launch, the Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask ($38), new to the line in January.

As you can imagine, constantly applying and removing makeup can make skin red, inflamed, and irritated. The Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask was ideal for reducing irritation on the models, and it can do the same for you, too!

"The main ingredient is a wild mushroom extract that's going to help brighten the skin immediately," explained Daisy Severino, backstage esthetician for REN. "There's also arnica that's going to help bring down any redness and inflammation and keep the skin nice and soft."

Shiseido Inkstroke Eyeliner and Brush

Shiseido Inkstroke Eyeliner and Brush

You may have had your eyes on the supersplashy colors at Zadig & Voltaire, but if you looked closer at the women who weren't wearing the yellow, red, and white paint, you'd notice they had some gorgeous, subtle eyeliner game going on. That look was created via Shiseido's Inkstroke Eyeliner and Brush, which are launching in August.

The Inkstroke Eyeliner is a potted cream and comes in six shades, Shinrin Green, Empitsu Gray, Kuromitsu Brown, Kon-Al Blue, Shikkoku Black, and Nasubi Purple. The blond models wore the brown eyeliner in a "melted off" effect, said Dick Page. It was applied with the genius Inkstroke Brush, which is curved to make for easier application.

Also, the colorful tubs you see are new (though they weren't used on the models). These are the brand's Paperlight Cream Eye Colors, which come in four shades: Shobu Purple, Hisui Green, Sango Coral, and Usuzumi Beige Gray.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Nail Polish in Trax

Marc Jacobs Beauty Nail Polish in Trax

Lead manicurist Jin Soon Choi and Marc Jacobs created an array of statement nails that were inspired by the '90s hip-hop era. The five nail polishes, each making their runway debut, were mixed and matched to create unique designs with dimension and depth. One of those nail polishes – Trax – was particularly special for two reasons. First, it’s brand new, and two, it was inspired by Marc Jacobs's own track pants that he’s been wearing for 15 years.

Trax is a moody maroon, the same hue as Marc’s aforementioned pants. The rest of the nail polish lineup included polishes already in the Marc Jacobs Beauty nail collection, though this was the first time the shades were worn on the catwalk. Choose from Blacquer (a deep, shiny black), Ladies’ Night ('60s-inspired beige), Gold Finger (gold), Moody (metallic maroon), and Oops (peachy beige).

Amika Immortal Power-Life Dryer

Amika Immortal Power-Life Dryer

The Adam Selman runway featured a cool-girl topknot that is sure to inspire future Summer festival beauty updos. To create the look, James Pecis for Amika sprayed the brand's Bombshell Blowout Spray ($24) on the models' hair and then dried it with the new, supersleek Immortal Power-Life Dryer ($300), which just launched.

The Immortal Power-Life Dryer boasts some pretty snazzy technology. For starters, this professional dryer features a brushless motor. This technology means it will live way longer than the traditional dryer (it has a 10,000-hour lifespan). It’s also super lightweight at 1 pound, is whisper-quiet (your neighbors will thank you), and boasts far-infrared heat and ionic tech to give you the sleekest hair on the block.

Milk Makeup Blur Stick

Milk Makeup Blur Stick

Mara Hoffman's 2017 collection placed a strong emphasis on slate blues, flesh tones, and earthy hues and was inspired by '90s tonal looks. To further make that vision come to life, she joined forces with Milk Makeup to create two different faces: one that was more dewy, bronzed, and natural; and another that was strong and feminine.

Both looks used the new Milk Makeup Blur Stick ($36) to help conceal the T-Zone on all the models. Consider the Blur Stick a real-time filter for your face. It helps to minimize the appearance of pores and fine lines and creates a matte finish.

The first Mara Hoffman look also used the recently released Milk Shadow Quad in Day Goals ($24) to create a bit of dimension on the eyes. Day Goals is an earth-toned cream shadow palette that contains Matte Beige, Matte Brown, Brown Taupe Shimmer, and Peach Shimmer.

China Glaze Nail Polish in High Standards

Model toes may be the last thing on your mind when watching them strut the catwalk, but the pedicures done on models at the Tommy Hilfiger x Gigi Hadid show are worth a closer look! Each wore the color High Standards from China Glaze’s upcoming Summer 2017 collection. Also pictured here (on the left) is the shade, I'd Melt For You, which launched last year and is part of the core line. The gold you see at the bottom was a custom-made gilded blend that likely won't make it to shelves, but it's still super pretty!

This is High Standards, a stunning gold polish that leans bronze-y. The entire Summer 2017 China Glaze collection feels sophisticated but fun and contains 12 colors ranging from cool metallics to splashy solids.

Nars Precision Lip Liners in Halong Bay and Camargue

Nars Precision Lip Liners in Halong Bay and Camargue

The makeup at Delpozo was soft and subtle, but it still made a big impact. It was all about perfectly moisturized skin, natural brows, a gently flushed cheek and eye, and barely there lip color. To create that stained lip color, Nars makeup artists used two new Precision Lip Liners debuting Fall 2017: Halong Bay and Camargue Precision.

It will be a while before these gorgeous lip liners are launched, so for now you can substitute Barbara Audacious Lipstick for Halong Bay, and Rue Bonaparte Larger Than Life Eyeliner for Camargue.
