Do You Book Standing Appointments?

Having regular scheduled blowout and manicure appointments always seems like the most ladies-who-lunch cosmopolitan dream to me, but I recently discovered a friend of mine — who, um, serves lunch — has a regular Wednesday afternoon date with her manicurist and a standing monthly eyebrow appointment. Do you schedule your appointments months in advance, or are you an impulse salon visitor?

I go when I have the money and usually book a week in advance.

My grandmother is a hair stylist and I would get my hair done by her. But we moved this year and now my mom actually trims it.

Only for hair. I do my own top lip, nails and eyebrows. It just cost too much to go to a salon and have someone do all that. But hair appointments are always made far in advance. I usually set up the next two or three when I go in, but that's mostly because my salon is the most popular place in town.

Every 6 weeks I am in for a haircut and a lip wax. Since I have short hair it really needs to be cut regularly to avoid having it look like a mullet, and well, a lip wax is never something you want to go too long without.

When I wore acrylic nails I had a standing appointment. I live in a small town and its just easier that way.

Nope, I tend to just wait til there's a need for whatever service. I'd constantly be rescheduling if I had a standing appointment. My life is nuts.

i actually have a friend who went to beauty school with me and we call eachother frantically every few weeks wanting to change our hair. my eyebrows are blonde and i pluck. i actually did my roots, trimmed my bangs and put some layers in the front tonight!

I don't have anything recurring. I do book my next appointment when I pay for my services. This makes sure I don't go too long between cuts and that I can get in. It also gives me something to look forward to, especially when it comes to manicures and pedicures.

No I go when I need to and I have the time. Standing appts usually don't always pan out, you never know what might happen.

I just call in day-of for my beauty appointments. But I don't frequent the super high-end places where my stylist would have a huge line booked for weeks ahead of her. More like just a couple hours. :)

Highlights. Scheduled every 6 weeks, 5 months out. I travel regularly for work, and believe me, it's easier to rearrange a meeting or travel than it is to reschedule my hair appointments. I mean, there ARE priorities! Brows I generally hit every 3 weeks, but I don't schedule much more than a week in advance.

I use to, but with the economy like it is and the price for things that are necessities going up I book spa/nail/waxing appointments as needed.

No. I just go whenever I get the urge for some change or really need a trim or whatever.

I tried scheduling my appointments are regular intervals but always found a reason to postpone them. My hair was in good shape and didn't need a trim yet or my nail polish still looked really good and would last another week. I hate canceling appts and inconveniencing the stylists so I just book 'em as I need 'em.
