Like some posters, I'm happy with my naturally fair skin. I think I look best with my light complexion. In my opinion, my skin contrasts nicely with my dark hair and eyes. One time, a strange woman came up to me on the street, and said,"Wow, you look like Snow White." She was kind and flattering. Also, I love my Uggs, too. I don't care if they're going out of style. They're comfy, warm, and cute.

Thank the gods! I can finally celebrate my alabaster-pale skin and point and laugh at the tanorexics who are threatening to take over the world (or, at least, my corner of the world, i.e. the Deep South, where women spend, weekly, the approximate GNP of many developed countries on tanning beds).

The best thing about that post is the pictures of those beautiful women!!! I want to know everything that was on Rose McGowen's face from that photo... I want to look exactly like that (hence making it my avatar)- she's radiant! ( and that's my coloring - from the hair, to the eyes, to the skin - with flawless foundation to cover my constant red flush) - I WISH I LOOKED THAT GORGEOUS NATURALLY!!!!! What lipstick is that I'm dying to know???!!! ( and I can see the faintess color on her cheeks and eyes - and perfect liner - AHHHHH!) I'd love to know what her makeup artist used!!!

I agree superjules. I am constantly applying sunscreen before I go outdoors and people have teased me, but lets see who has the last laugh ten years from now ;)

I think what is tacky is the obvious fake tan, the orange look. Or the overly tanned. Those people look like leather handbags by the time they are 40. I'll keep my naturally porcelain skin. I avoid the sun at all costs and always wear a high spf. That might be one reason why at 39 people still think my 19 year old daughter and I are sisters.

This article isn't for people who are tan as their actual skin color, but those of us who are born with pale complexions. It's specifically referring to people who use fake tanner, tanning beds or tan in the sun and are naturally lighter skinned. If I were the person who wrote the article though, I would have left out the class part. We don't need to go back to it being about about social class. That's kind of archaic.

I think that's a little rude to say...especially when there are people out there who are naturally tanned...ahem. Like myself. I think what's tacky is people who are naturally very pale and they go crazy with the tanner. They look like oompa loompas. So if tan is tacky does that mean I need to go get some skin bleach?

I don't really consider pale skin a trend. I always stick to my natural coloring. I don't care what anyone else does. I like my natural coloring and don't feel the need to change it especially since it would be to please other people, not to please myself. And I never have worn uggs, trendy or not. I don't like them.

Uggs are never going out. Don't even try to pretend.

I agree 100 %. I love myself tanned...although i do not go to tanning beds and I look slimmer and healthier when I am tanned. I use selftanner and bronzer all year around. And I LOVE my Uggs and the I disagree with everything mentioned in the article. Also as we all know, the thing with trends is that you should only follow them if they look good on you. So even if pale skin with dark berry stained lips are in, that just does not mean I have to sport it, if it does not look good on me. Following trends blindly is tacky!
