Think Pink! Sheer Pink Eye Shadows For Spring

A sheer wash of pink on your eyes or cheeks is a great touch for Spring. Even if you're not the girly girl type, a sprinkle of pink can look rocker chic, bohemian or smart. Here are three great medium hued pink eye shadow colors that look bellissima on all eye colors.

Laura Mercier Eye Colour Shimmer in Mauve, $20, is a slightly iridescent purplish pink shadow. It can be worn alone on the base of your lid or mixed with a deeper taupe in the crease for added drama.

This is one of my all time favorite shadows. It is formulated with french cashmere talc so it glides on silky smooth, it blends well and it won't give you that icky crease by mid day. This type of shadow is also available in 18 other beautiful shades.

For two more pink eye shadows,

Aveda Petal Essence Single Eye Color in Dahlia, $11, is a more subtle and soft true pink. This delicate shade is infused with wax to ensure easy application. It also has an amazing light and sweet floral aroma. Aveda's shadows are also crease resistant and buttery soft.

NARS Single Eye Shadow in Nymphea, $21, is a beautiful, crisp and slightly shimmery pink shadow. This is a great staple to have in your makeup bag since it's so versatile.

You can use it as a base shadow, a highlighter or to lighten and brighten a dark crease shade. It is formulated to be long wearing and crease resistant as well.

I'm totally on top of this! If/when I actually DO wear makeup it's with pink or lavendar eyeshadow so I've been on the ball the entire time, yesssss! Haha!

I agree with Baltimoregal, darker shades of pink on lighter skin and lighter shades on darker skin. Otherwise, fair ladies end up looking a little ill. Olive skin I'd go with a true pink pink.

My experience with pink shadow is you need to go bold one way or the other. I have light skin so i wear dark or bright pink. and i think the light or shimmery pale pinks look better on dark skin. "Save the makeup, save the world..."

I love using pink as a blending color between my darkest and lightest color.

I can't pull it off either, I always look like I have red eyes or something, just doesn't work!

ccsugar-- I so did the same thing! I always wore these various frosty pink and matte pink shades in middle school. I believe it was Covergirl...I didn't know how to apply it that well and so blended it up to my brows. Good times.

I've been gravitating toward my Lancome Exhibition and Off the Rack the past few weeks. Guess pink really just does feel right for Spring!! Love it!

For those who like the idea of pink but can't pull it off, may I suggest violet? I am loving my Shimmer Wash Eyeshadow in Lilac, and my Long Wear Cream Shadow in Orchid, both by Bobbi Brown. Between the two shades you can come up with a variety of looks, from girly to sophisticated.

Those are pretty. The right shade of pink looks good on me. I have a pinkish-purplish color from MAC that I love, it's called Zeal.

I agree, no matter what shade I try, I always end up looking like I've been crying. Some people can pull it off beautifully.

I used to wear pink eyeshadow a lot in middle school, now when I try to wear it, it just looks weird!
