Totally Rad Teen Perfumes from House of Rose

Jane Langdon decided to make and sell her own perfume because she had to say goodbye, old friend to her favorite Crabtree & Evelyn scent. It was a rose perfume (hence the company name House of Rose), and her fragrance became so popular that friends and family began requesting more scents.

When her teenage sons approached her asking for some fun scents, she decided to survey teenagers countrywide for ideas and opinions. Some time later she launched a line called Scent Bent FUN Fragrances just for them. And although some schools are considering banning fragrances, that won't keep teenagers away from these.

This teen collection now includes 29 flavors such as Baby Powder, Peach, Bubble Gum, Lemonade and Dreamsickle. What's cool about these perfumes is that they are alcohol-free, so they last twice as long as other perfumes.

Also, they contain lab certified human pheromones, which are chemicals we emit that trigger a response from the opposite sex. Lastly, the hip and colorful graphics on the bottles are geared toward teens. Each fragrance costs $65. Samples, as well as full-sized products, can be purchased online. Questions ANSWERED Demeter Most Demeter fragrances (colognes) are alcohol based & not perfume strength so their prices reflect their cheap ingredients. (See drugstore.com for ingredients). They also do not contain pheromones which are very expensive. They make only six pheromone with scent products & they are not gender specific. You can not get a pheromone only or gender specific version. So if you don't like the scent or do not want a scent you are very limited. "You usually get what you pay for". It is interesting that model Kate Moss claims to wear Demeter “Dirt”.

Questions ANSWERED There is a link on the web site to scientific studies, including Harvard University, on how pheromones work at http://www.uniqueshoppes.com/pheromonefacts Understand that the attraction is attraction and if you make it sexual than that is a choice. Would you ban teen dances because they could be viewed as a mating ritual? We wash away and deodorize our natural pheromones that are intended to attract others. Pheromones play a role in our process of natural selection. What about teens who are not popular, attractive or outgoing? Most perfumes are 97% alcohol so you are paying for the packaging and marketing, not quality ingredients. Alcohol causes allergies and fast evaporation. A perfume that is good for your skin, lasts a long time and has attractants is quite unusual in the much overpriced perfume industry. You can get them without the pheromones if you ask and samples are available at the bottom of the home page. http://houseofrose.com

I don't think that pheromones are such a good idea. My finance has a pheromone cologne and its truly amazing the reaction he gets from me, but also other women. But what are we going to do? Ask for I.D? Ha Ha

I'm sorry--my 14 year old does not need to spend that type of money to attract boys!! I would spend that to keep them away! There are lots of companies out there--the indie companies, where you can buy these at a fraction of the cost-- I just bought pink marshmallow, whick people stop & aask me about!

at $65, this perfume seems kind of pricey. the way teenagers change their minds so much, i wouldn't want to fork over the money to have them tire of the scent after a couple weeks. if the samples are cheaper, that'd be a better ooption for sure. i also agree w/ mwmsjuly19 - why are we trying to add pheremones to attract the opposite sex amongst teenagers. i don't think they need any help in that area!

Do we really need stuff that rouses a teen's sex hormones? I doubt it works, but I think that marketing ploy is tacky.
