User Review: Jennifer76 on Revlon's Makeup Eraser Pen

User Review: Jennifer76 on Revlon's Makeup Eraser Pen

Today's user review comes from Jennifer76, who recently declared her love for the Revlon Makeup Eraser Pen ($7.99) in the Beauty Product Junkies group. (Write your own reviews in the group, and I might post yours on BellaSugar too!) Here's what Jennifer76 had to say:

This is one of those products that once you have it, you wonder how the heck you survived without it. The tip is solid — kinda like ceramic or something — and somehow it dispenses just exactly the right tiny little amount of makeup remover. It's like magic.

It's much easier to aim than a Q-tip — plus no straggly cotton filaments left behind! It's totally perfect for fixing any hiccups in your liquid-liner line, making quick work of any mascara spots, or even cleaning up any end-of-day raccoon issues.

For the rest of her review,

It really is pretty greaseless. I've been able to brush new shadow or what-have-you right over the area where I just used the pen without any issues. You do have to wipe it off on your hand (or I guess a Kleenex, but I'm worried about lintifying it) between each swipe on your skin. If not, you will deposit a small amount of whatever you just removed on the last spot. But still, I cannot recommend this little magical tool highly enough.

I bought one this weekend after reading this review, and I've gotta say they are MUCH better than q-tips! True, they leave a bit of residue behind, but I'll take that any day as opposed to lint all up in my lashes, or worse, caught in my eyes. Besides, all you have to do is wipe it off with your finger. As for what Rachelattack said, I think you should do your concealer stuff last, then you can make as many eye makeup mistakes as possible and still come out looking gorgeous. And of course you wouldn't leave makeup remover on your face once your done; but then again, your face is reletively makeup-free at that point anyway and you aren't worried about how you look. Anyway, bottom line, I think for 99% of women, this is a makeup must have!

Ok, the verdict is in, Pretty darn well! It took a couple of swipes - and the tip needed wiping off between each swipe - but it got the lipstick right off my skin. You would need to probably powder back over the area afterward if you tend to wear a full coverage type foundation. But, better than walking around with smeared lipstick, right...? :D

haow does it work on lipstick? I dont relly do the eye thing but I am big on red lipstick which is a pain if you smear at all.

I do my eye makeup before I put on concealer and foundation, so that might be part of the different experience, rachelattack. So, I mostly use this to fix things on my upperlids - hiccups in liner lines and where my lashes brush my upper lid before they're dry and I get those little mascara spots. Then, all I really need to do is take the shadow brush and reswipe the little spot I used the pen.

I'm surprised by the review. I think it would only be most helpful to ladies who wear lots of liner, or who really goof up mascara. I bought it for mascara smudges - I have the uncanny ability to sneeze exactly the moment after it's applied - and I hate it. It feels really oily, and it's the type of feeling I have to wipe away. I was hoping it might be a let-dry kind of product, but it's really not, it's actually just oil-based makeup solvent in a marker. Would you leave your makeup remover on your face when you were done? Besides, the smudges tend to be under my eye where there's also concealer and, obviously, it ALL get's wiped away. Ladies, I'm sticking with Q-tips. I can nix problems without making a big mess and having to re-apply everything. If you don't wear any other products around the area's you're looking to clean up, this might be a better bet - but don't think you can get away with just "erasing" mistakes, you're going to need to erase, wipe off, and re-apply any concealers/colours.
