Watch Keira Knightley's Short Film For Chanel Coco Mademoiselle 2011-03-21 11:43:49

See Keira Knightley's Short Film For Coco Mademoiselle

In Chanel's new short film for Coco Mademoiselle, Keira Knightley takes a whirlwind tour of Paris, zipping down Rue de Rivoli to Place de la Concorde before stopping at Coco Chanel's apartment for a sultry photo shoot. Directed by Joe Wright, who previously worked with Keira on Atonement and Pride and Prejudice, the spot is soundtracked by Joss Stone's upending of James Brown's notoriously chauvinist song "It's a Man's, Man's, Man's World." Do you think Keira, Karl Lagerfeld, and Coco Mademoiselle have a hit?

Rigor, I definitely felt like Keira was ACTING in Pirates, but I thought her performance in Atonement was solid. She's still young, so I give her (and anyone else so young) plenty of time to hone the craft. Just curious, what did you think about Natalie Portman in Black Swan? Because I felt like that was ACTING! ACT-O-RAMA! Whereas Michelle Williams in Blue Valentine disappeared into her character so deeply that I forgot I was watching a bonafide movie star.Annie, you have better eyes than I do!

Just watched again. Two things: 1. She starts in the same apartment she drives to. 2. Who has a photo of herself by her bed? Agree with you, Annie, though. Paris never gets old!

Annie, I thought she was... decent. Thing is, when it comes to actors like Keira, you can always tell that they're acting, and in her case in particular, that she's more worried about pouting than about her character. That said, I'm a cinephile, so perhaps that's why I'm being so picky. And I gotta agree with you, the settings look absolutely flawless in this ad.

"Complete supernova of cheesiness" is a clever phrase, RM. I liked the visuals a lot, though... seeing Coco Chanel's apartment and the way light hits Paris will never get old to me. Have you seen Atonement? I thought Keira was good in that.

Keira is PURDY, but can't act her way out of a traffic ticket, even in this godawful ad. Those 3 minutes were a complete supernova of cheesiness!

The photoshoot premise is a little boring, but it's pretty for sure.
