Positive self-esteem is an incredibly important quality to have — it's what enables us to try new things, grow, and experience joy — but it's not always easy to achieve. Some days we may not feel like our best selves and, as a result, shut out opportunities. So whether you have been in a rut with respect to courage or are just in the mood to really test yourself, we put together an entire month's worth of confidence boosters to try. Each day we'll give you something fun to do that will take you out of your comfort zone and into your confident one.

Hair and beauty challenges to take

Day 1: Today is the day to color your hair at home — experiment with a richer hair color for your base. It's Fall, after all. Do you want something ashy or golden? Do your research ahead of time, that way you know exactly what Clairol Nice 'n Easy color shade to select.

Day 2: Experiment with hair accessories! Think paisley scarves and shiny barrettes. The added vibrancy in your hair will help you show off.

Day 3: Try a new hairstyle for a confidence boost (high bun, topknot, or even change where you wear your part). Something as subtle as a hair change can make a big difference.

Day 4: Paint your nails a new fun shade today. Maybe something that goes with your hair color.

Day 5: If you have grays starting to come in, today is the day to get rid of them with Clairol Root Touch-Up.

Day 6: Enough with the clear lip balm. Pick up a moisturizing lipstick or creme that complements your hair or skin tone. Feel free to go bold with your choice, too!

Day 7: Wear a choker today. Everyone's doing it.

Day 8: Find a color that complements your hair color. Is it red? Is it a light pink? Search in your closet and see if you can find a top or blouse of that same shade.

Day 9: Go into your wardrobe and pull out three pieces you haven't worn in months. Move them to the front of your closet and vow to wear them before the week is over.

Day 10: When was the last time you wore heels to work? Is the thought of commuting in a wedge too daunting? Today, head to work in your usual flats, but switch your shoes when you get there. Switch back to your flats when you leave the office.

Day 11: Feel like sweater weather? Try the half-tuck. Take just one side of your oversize sweater and tuck it into the waistband of your jeans.

Day 12: Indulge in a great fashion book written by your favorite ready-to-wear designer.

Day 16: Sign up for a yoga class for the end of the workday. You'll unwind, clear your head, and feel full of confidence after.

Day 17: Make a workout playlist. Add some new songs with fast RPM to keep you moving. Following your sweat session, you'll feel energized and ready to tackle the day.

Day 18: See if you can schedule one meeting this week to happen outside. Then, walk during the meeting.
