What Do You Think of Poofy Hair?

When I was writing last week's America's Next Top Model quiz, one of the questions was almost, "How many contestants were wearing ponytails with a hump of teased hair in front at elimination?" The answer hovered around seven, but some only did it halfway, so I decided it was a bad question. So imagine my surprise when the look came down Zac Posen's Spring 2009 runway. This hairstyle is starting to feel stale to me, but it's clearly popular. What do you think of it?

I prefer smooth, straight hair, so I despise poof! Some people can pull it off, I'm just not willing to go there.

Only looks good when it's not tooooo high and don't use a whole can of aqua net !

I was indifferent and rarely wore the look myself until one day I was having a HORRID hair day and fixed the situation with a Gwen Stefani-esque poofy twist at the front of my ponytail...and inexplicably, my husband was practically drooling over how "hot" it was. Poof, I love it!

This look is definitely not my favorite. I've done a baby poof with my bangs and it looks cute but it's more for the volume then the shape. I really don't like it when celebs have a pretty updo and ruin it with the poof in the front a la Hilary Duff. Lovely girl but she's all too famous for this poof look.

I love it when it's done right, I don't really like the example above. For some reason I keep thinking of the Sex and the City episode where Carrie modles Dolce & Gabbana, with the big hair:)

I hate the poof. I had teased huge tumor-like bangs in the 80's and it was bad. Really bad. That said, I have curly thick hair and it can get big, not because of hairspray or intentions, it just can't help itself and I love it. It is sexy and I agree that flat is kinda boring. I hate the poof though. Teasing all over the front is okay, but just that middle mohawk part, no.

I like poof but not in just one spot. Drop the pony tail and throw in the poof body all over and I am there. :)

I can rock this shizz in my sleep. This was my hairstyle for most of 1989. I am glad to see it's come 'round again -- gives me an excuse to bust out my teasing comb and some hairspray!

Maybe if it was done a little neater.

There are other types of poofiness I like. But the one in the photo is not my style. It looked dirty and I don't get the top. I don't think it's even flattering on the model.

That's not poofy... my hair is frickin' poofy, by nature! This just looks dirty. Not recommended for anything other than runway art.

I think it's a great runway look, but not for everyday.

Maybe not as poofy as in the photo, but I have thin hair, so I give mine about an inch of poofiness whenever I pull it into a ponytail. I think it just looks nicer than a regular ol' pony

if i'm going to tease, i prefer a 60s bump in the back. the poof doesn't look right on me.

Just plain NO. It's almost as bad as leaving the house with bedhead.
