Willow Smith's New "Whip My Hair" Song 2010-09-09 11:00:00

Do You Whip Your Hair?

"Whip My Hair" is the first musical effort from Will Smith's daughter, Willow. (Seriously, what can this family not do?) Besides being adorable, it also advocates that we whip our "hair back and forth" when confronted with haters. As someone who has, on occasion, been known to whip her bangs around to punctuate statements, I'd be happy to see this song hit the top of the charts. But is hair whipping the sort of thing you engage in, or are Willow and I alone in our love of the activity? Listen to the precocious song and let me know what you think:

"Feeling good about oneself doesn't have to be based on the envy of others. I would have thought the Pinkett-Smiths would have taught her that it's what you do and how you feel about who you are that matters most." - AnonymousI totally agree. I'm so sick of these songs about haters and talk about haters. Please? Its all in the mind. I have no idea who is "hating" on me because I could give a rat's bee-hind if they are or aren't. People create an "imaginary fan base" of haters to give them an excuse to be confrontational or feel superior. It annoys me so badly that our kids have picked up on this because they go so overboard with it.

...i actually like this song. But why would you put your 9 year old daughter into the spotlight like this? What is she going to do, tour? Seems waaayyyyy too young.

Wow, she sounds older than 9 on this song. It's a cute song, but Wow, I, the voice just sounds so much older than 9.
