MAC's Edgy New Collaboration Involves Halsey and a Gray Lipstick

Would You Buy Perfume Here?

Pop and I were in New York not too long ago, and around the corner from our hotel, a man was selling perfumes from a table. There was Vera Wang Princess, Thierry Mugler Angel, Flower by Kenzo, Calvin Klein Euphoria, on and on and on. The prices were low, but somehow I don't trust the product. Would you have picked up a bargain, or taken a pass?

I'd save my money for a handbag and buy the real one.. but a good handbag will last for years. Perfume won't. So I would buy it off the street if it's a good deal(ie: cheap). But I'd ask to test it first. No sample spritz, no sale.

no way!

Those street vendors are notorious for selling watered down products or even just colored water! I live in seattle and remember there being a segment in the local news about it a while back.

I've been jipped too many times at these counters!

Nope, I prefer to purchase only authentic items. Likewise, I wouldn't purchase a faux bag on Canal street either. I opt to hold out for the real deal.

No way, it'd be like buying a Fendi bag from a guy selling them out of the trunk of his car.

I'd rather pay more for the real thing. That being said, I do have a knock-off that smells identical to the original (we did a blind smell test at work), so if I find something like that then of course I'd go for the cheaper version!

Fakey fake fake! If you want a bargain, get it from TJMaxx, Nordstrom Rack or a cosmetic outlet store. Off the street is just a bad idea.

Ugh, don't! Especially in New York!

I've bought perfume from these places before and I don't believe my skin started melting off. I wouldn't do it again though, because I didn't know they could have been fake. I like the real deal! I also have heard about those shady people that try to sell electronics and stuff the box with newspaper. The big city is always trying to hustle people.

I buy from these ppl all the time lol. The products are pretty much the same and the price is right!

I would think that the bottle is a fake. Why bother.

I wouldn't even be tempted! Who knows where the stuff has come from or what they've used to water it down. And, if by some slim chance it's the real deal, you know it's stolen. Besides perfume sitting out in the sun = nasty stuff.

i go to school in the city so i see these stands everyday; theyre either really good knockoffs or stolen goods.. so either way theres no reason why i would stop off to get something from there..

Def nope!

I wouldn't... besides being outside in the sun all day will fry a perfume. I just don't like those perfume vendors, they have them in the mall sometimes and it seems shady. At least you know your getting the real thing at Sephora or other beauty retailers.

no way. i used to live in chinatown, and i can assure you that just about every "designer" item that's sold down there is fake. plain and simple.
Arias101 Arias101 7 years
okay seriously it's one thing if you have the money to get that stuff, but seriously if everyone owns something that's a fake. So what if a fake bag or sunglasses, or whatever. So what if it's perfume? As it for "melting your skin off", what has ever melted your skin off.... Testing it like any other product would work just as well and seriously you're throwing away- how much? If it works- GREAT and if not, you can always find something else and just use it as home fragrance spray ...

Are you kidding?! No way! I only by my perfume's at an actual store that sells the real deal, not some table on a street corner.

I live in New York and see things like that all the time. I don't buy from them though, I just keep on walking.

Most of the street stands only sell knockoffs. Occasionally, you'll find the real thing, but most of the time, it's not. I probably wouldn't buy fragrances from stands like that, mainly because it most likely wouldn't have the staying power and middle/base notes that the actual perfume would have.

No!!! It does not seem legit at all. It's like fake perfumes or something.
