This Silver Eye Makeup Is Sure to Set a Trend For Halloween

You've already gone for the whole deeply moody witch vibe, and princesses were just never your thing. This year, you're going as your favorite tenacious superhero. You've got the red cape and blue bodysuit, all you need now is a sleek face to complete your Woman of Steel-inspired outfit. We tapped makeup artists Jordan Plath and Melissa Guzman of Kryolan to create a seriously blinged-out tutorial for Halloween.

Line the eyes

Start by adding a little bit of eye shadow. We used the Kajal pencil in black to add to the crease and along the lash line. Use a brush to blend. Also add a little drop shadow under the eye and the lower lash line.

Coat lips with black stain

Coat lips with black stain

Prime the lip using a black base. Priming the lip allows for a more pronounced look in the end. We used a lip stain in the color Metal. Allow one minute to dry.

Create a foil effect

Create a foil effect

Using Metallique silver cream shadow, add to the eyelid, eyebrows, and lip to create a foiled look. If you don't have a cream makeup, you can use a strong pigmented powder, but you might want to wet it or use a mixing medium to make it more creamy.

Apply highlighter and glitter

Apply highlighter and glitter

You're a superhero, remember? Add a cream highlighter to the high points of the face like the cheekbones, brow bones, and bridge of the nose. Add more than usual for more sheen. We used the Illusion highlighter in Silk, but you can use any silver or pearl color to create the same look.

Next, apply a fine glitter shimmer dust on the cheekbones and brush it into the temples, while dabbing on the lips and lid. Make sure to only use cosmetic-grade glitter and never use craft glitter on your face.

05
Apply fake lashes

Apply fake lashes

Put on extra fluffy lashes to add a more dramatic effect to your eyes that will balance out the bold lip. We used a pair in B6 size. Touch up the eyes as needed.

Apply body jewels near the tear duct and around your eyes to create a mask effect. Feel free to add any more decorative elements. Voila!
