Cost of Living on Higher Floors

Is Paying More For a Better View Worth It?

I know a lot of people are willing to fork out more money for a better view (and higher floor) at their apartments, but that's never really been very important to me. It's not like I spend hours looking out the window. In fact, I barely glance at it. Sometimes the difference of a good view and a not-so-good view can range from hundreds of dollars. What do you think — is a good view worth paying more?

Nope, not worth it. If I get a view of a building or something, I'd just put curtains up over that window. I'll take the cheaper rent.

In my apartments I have never cared. It's not like I'm going to live here permanently.I'm in my first apartment that actually has a view other than the parking lot. But luckily I have never lived anywhere where things like that cost more.

It depends what the non-view overlooks. If it is trash cans or the A/C unit, it is worth the extra money but if it's a garden view vs. an ocean view, not so much.

Worth itI can get lost in a view and get a lot of peace from escaping to itActually insist on a great view in hotels nowNatural bodies of water are the best. Fake water falls or streams the worst.

I think it's worth it. I've noticed it really does make me happy if I can look at something I like, just like it bums me out when I have a view of cars and trash cans. But maybe my idea of a nice view differs from that of other people. I don't need to see an amazing panorama of hills and trees.. all I need is maybe some nice plants or birds or something. I've got my garden all around my house, and I've made it look as pretty as I could, so I'm happy with that.
