Local parks should be a major consideration when hunting for public wedding venues. It might take some research, but chances are you can find a park with a lovely gazebo, a well-known tree or lake, or a pavilion area to hold the ceremony. Another perk to look out for: parks with community centers or multipurpose rooms where you can have the wedding reception (or the ceremony even, in case it rains). With the right planning, your wedding won't look anything like your fourth grade birthday party.
