What Personality Trait Would you Adopt?

Have you ever wished you had a specific character trait that one of your best friends has that you lack? Is she calm as a cucumber under pressure and you are a nervous Nelly when the going gets tough? Or does your brother have a knack at reading people where you are more trusting? Since we can't have it all, if you could adopt one personality trait from a family member or friend, do tell, what trait would you take on as your own, and from whom?

i need to not "put it all out there" so much. i heard a recording of myself and i sounded like an explosion of words when i really meant to be mildly interested. (omfg yes! vs. that might be sort of fun.)

I hope I have inherited her big heart though. She has always said 'the more you give the more you will gain'. That's always been true with me. She is my hero man!

My mum was so poised, everyone around her commented on that aspect of her persona, I wish I could be more still. Her manners were so impeccable, something which I don't think I have inherited fully. She was strong because she was so flexible and in control. I am the complete opposite and I can see why sometimes being able to adjust doesn't mean you are weak.

I wish I could tell great stories or jokes...I have some awesome ones, but I always manage to eff up the punch line or make the story sound boring (when it absolutely isn't)'s a quality that my ex had that I really liked

i 100% can agree with you calibabi. I soooo wish i was more outgoing like my sister. I'm very outgoing with my friends when i can be very shy with anyone i first meet. And also be able to speak publicly naturally without being nervous and having to write a speech.

I would want to be funny. Making people laugh and telling good stories is just not my forte.

I would want to have the talent my friend K has: to see the humour in everything, and tell wittily about it.

I wish I was bolder; less afraid of new things.

I wish I was more courageous. I tend to over analyze and think about things possibly going wrong. I could be living a more exciting life if I wasn't so worried all the time.

You guys make me feel so much better. :) I suck at talking to people I don't know very well (a friend basically once summed it up by saying it really was because I don't care abotu your cat or you summer and I really would rather not talk to you anyway. completely true :rotfl: she gets me). I wish it wasn't so hard for me to do.

I would like to be more assertive, I tend to let certain people walk all over me-like my boss, and some family members.

I'd love to be more decisive.

i wish i was more outgoing. i tend to close up in new or uncomfortable people that i first meet don't know that i really am a fun, crazy girl! they think i'm the "quiet one" (which, out of all my friends, that is the least likely thing that i would be called!). it just takes a while for me to warm up to people. oh, and i also wish i had more patience!!!

I wish I had more patience as well. And Yumsugar is so direct and calm and I wish I was more like her sometimes.

So many of my friends are better at biting their tongues! I really need to learn that not everyone is interested in my opinion.

Mine is the same as jhuck's. My boyfriend is great at talking to strangers and new people. I really wish that I was too, but I tend to clam up and have a hard time thinking of things to say.

I wish I was able to chat in person better with new people. Sometimes I find myself at a loss of things to say because I don't know them, and all the standard where you from type questions get boring.
