Hey there, I'm Karli Bulnes. Now that Eddie Murphy has stepped down as the host of the Oscars, there's been an outpouring of ideas for his replacement. Hear who the top contenders are in PopSugar Rush! "No I'm going, and I'm going to host the Oscars"/"and I never did it before so I'm looking forward to it." Oh what a difference a week makes — just last Friday, Eddie Murphy was all excited about his Oscars hosting gig, but after his friend and Tower Heist director Brett Ratner dropped out as producer of the awards show, Eddie stepped down as host yesterday. The producer slot has already been filled by Brian Grazer, but since the hosting job is still open, we've got some ideas of who should fill Eddie's shoes. So far, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are popular picks on Twitter. And some celebrities have gotten in on the action, too. Nick Cannon offered up five options, including Will Smith, Seth Rogen, and Russell Crowe, while Ryan Seacrest threw out Neil Patrick Harris, Ellen DeGeneres, Ryan Gosliing, and . . . The Muppets. "Hey there, have you ever wanted to hang out with the Muppets?/Or more specifically, muah?" Believe it or not, Ryan's not alone on that one. "The Muppets Should Host the 2012 Oscars" Facebook page has more than 22,000 "likes." And if last year's Facebook campaign to get Betty White to host SNL is any indication, Kermit and company shouldn't be counted out just yet. No matter who takes the stage as host, Eddie released a statement saying he's sure the new team "will do an equally great job" as his team would have done.
