On Wednesday, special ceremonies across the US commemorated the 12th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, with politicians, first responders, and friends and family who lost loved ones coming together in remembrance. At the White House, President Obama and Michelle Obama joined Vice President Joe Biden and Jill Biden for a moment of silence. President Obama also spoke during a ceremony at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA, where victims' families and survivors of the attack gathered and left flowers at the site. In New York, emotions ran high throughout ceremonies at the 9/11 Memorial, which drew leaders, firefighters, policemen, and loved ones, who made rubbings of the victims' names that were etched on the memorial. And in Shanksville, PA, US Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell gave an address at the Flight 93 National Memorial. See all the touching pictures from commemorations across the country.
