Alicia Keys Silences the VMAs Crowd For the Best Reason
Alicia Keys stunned on Sunday night when she attended the MTV Video Music Awards at Madison Square Garden in New York City. But while her makeup-free look, colorful dress, and cute PDA with husband Swizz Beatz were all eye-catching, it was her time on stage that really turned heads. Before presenting the award for best male video on Aug. 28, which also happens to be the 53rd anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech, the singer recited a poem about love and equality. "If war is holy and sex is obscene, then we got it twisted in this lucid dream," she said, before beautifully belting out, "Maybe we can love somebody. Maybe we can care a little more." Almost all of the audience then got to their feet to cheer on her uplifting and positive message. Watch it all go down above!
