What does it mean to you to be receiving an award for a film that adds something to the social commentary? It means everything to me. I made this film not, you know, hoping that I would just not make a mess of it and hoping that I would not fail the cast and crew who gave me their trust. The subject matter means so much to me and I honestly can't tell you how much it means to be here tonight and associated with Stanley Kramer, who is somebody whose films have just changed our lives and changed the way we view the world. What's the most poignant thing that someone has said to you, who maybe lived through the conflict and that has seen the film biggest compliment you got? Well, there was one woman who said, the character in our movie is Isla and there was a lot of questions in doing the film, people would say, "Could this happen, how could this happen?" and one of the women saw it and said, "I am Isla." and so her words speak volumes.
