Beyonce Backlash Skit on Saturday Night Live February 2016

SNL Spoofs the Hell Out of Those Anti-Beyoncé Protestors

This week, Saturday Night Live did not hold back while poking fun at the backlash Beyoncé received following her Super Bowl halftime show and her "Formation" music video. After Melissa McCarthy showed off her golden sense of humor in her opening monologue, SNL aired a fake trailer called "The Day Beyoncé Turned Black," spoofing the reactions of white fans upon learning that Beyoncé is a black woman. They listened to lyrics like, "I got hot sauce in my bag, swag," to which they responded, "Maybe this song isn't for us." Watch the sketch in its entirety now, and then get familiar with the controversy surrounding Beyoncé's video and Super Bowl performance.
