Those who stayed up into early Tuesday morning saw something strange in the sky. Instead of the familiar black-and-white moon, there was a red sphere that had a haunting quality to it. Thankfully we were expecting it, due to all the press leading up to this so-called blood moon, which happens during a total lunar eclipse. That would have been quite the shock if you didn't know what was coming. If you missed the crimson moon, we have a GIF that captures it all. And mark your calendars. There are three more eclipses this year — on April 29, Oct. 8, and Oct. 23. NASA says that's a rare occasion. You know: once in a red moon.
