I'm too old for the books, but did see the movie on DVD...had to see what the fuss was about... Horribly acted and directed, the Bella character was beyond boring and one dimensional. The chick that plays her can't act, completely phoned in her "performance". Have to agree with folks that said it's not a great message to young girls to base your entire existence on a cute guy and have no other interests/goals than being with him. Also, her needing to be rescued every five minutes was a terrible message and dull as hell. That said, I know it's for kids, so you kids enjoy. Give me the Underworld series any day. Selene and Lucien hands down.... BTW, to those that are ragging on people expressing dislike for Twilight....this was not a "how much do you love Twilight" thread...it was a poll asking if people are excited about the new film clip, therefore differing opinions are expected.

Meh...when I was 12 I was reading Exit to Eden...and I still didn't turn into a nympho. But as far as this series goes. I WILL PASS. Mostly because I don't need to read about teen angst as an adult.

Leave it although I heard Jacob was the only redeeming character throughout the entire series. Twilight came highly recommended to me by a good friend and I read it a couple of days ago. I tried hard to like it. I wanted to like it but it was not meant to be. It was an easy read and yet, I struggled to get through it. Sorry but I don't find anything appealing about an overly insecure girl fawning over a perfect Adonis vampire every other paragraph. I also don't find it appealing that Bella constantly put her own self down and pondered her worth. Normally books are better than the movies but in the case of Twilight the reverse was true. The Twilight movie was merely 'okay' if not terrible, but it was 100x better than its respective book. And, that's saying something.

when people say they want more Edward have they not read the book? no offence but that the whole point of the book Edward leaves...in the film you are meant to sense hes absence too! it would kill it if Edward was there through out the film whilst Bella was going through the dark depression! just saying so don't start attacking me :)
