Can J Lo and Marc Last Without a Nanny?

Last week we heard that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony had dumped their nanny and are planning on raising their twins all on their own. We couldn't believe that the busy celebrity couple were going to balance their family and career without help, but yesterday Marc insisted that they have to take baby shifts because there's no permanent babysitter around. They probably have lots of friends and family to help them out, but tell us — do you think J Lo and Marc can last without a nanny?

No nanny or manny: singular or plural, lol. Jenn & Marc reportedly had a nanny, and then decided they wanted to be their babies' primary care-givers. They can afford to hire other staff to tend to whatever else is needed: cooking, cutting the grass, laundry, housekeeping, etc. It doesn't mean they will never have, or haven't had, a babysitter for a couple of hours. That's very different from a 24/7 "nanny" and more personal, isn't it? The set-up sounds sincere and workable. It's not rocket science.

Spare me! JLo couldn't even put her own shoes on by herself before (she had people to dress her!) but now she wants us to believe she is taking care of 2 babies all by herself while running all over the world with her self-absorbed career?! Never! If they said they don't have "a" nanny, its probably because they actually have "4" nannies~~2 for each baby! Or they have people doing every single other thing that could possibly be done for them so that all they have left to do themselves is change diapers and feed the babies so that they can brag about doing that themselves. Whatever. I'm not impressed. I'd be more impressed to see her actually looking haggered while taking the babies to the grocery store and the park by herself. But I bet that never happens!

Tom Cruise also said he didn't have a nanny for his older children. Then the nanny wrote a book. Obviously celebrity Scientologists feel the need to lie about having help.

I'm not buying this story at all. They might call their help au-pair or baby nurse or baby sitter instead of nanny but there is no way that a diva like Jennifer is changing diapers and getting up every 2 hours to feed the babies. This whole superior attitude is so annoying - do they really think that this will gain them any admirers? They are so transparent

i find it hard to believe that they don't have help right now - since they are so busy with their careers, but i guess if that's their claim then we don't have any way to really dispute it. i just think that it's almost unreasonable to think that they can do it w/o a nanny. who knows...

Of course they can make it happen, but I know that they'll probably have another nanny in no time! Twins are just too stressful if they plan on keeping up with their careers.

If normal families can do it they can too. I'm sure they have family that would help and they both have enough money that they don't have to work for a year or two outside of the home at the same time.

good for them, i think its a great decision :) they can do, people all over the world balance really demanding jobs and children.

Right...they do not have 1 nanny, but they probabably have like, 10 housekeepers, 3 cooks blah blah. As if they're doing without help

THANK YOU Romydown! I don't get why this is such a big deal. I gave birth to twins when my son was 23 months old. I managed to take care of him and the twins while balancing a full-time job at a time when my husband's job required him to work a minimum of 65 hours a week. In addition, my twins were on totally opposite schedules no matter what I trie. I breastfed them until they were a year old and could take cow's milk. I never saw myself as somehow worthy of a pat on the back- I have always believed that it was what I was EXPECTED to do as a responsible mother. My mother-in-law watched the kids while I worked, but otherwise I did it without the benefit of a baby nurse, a nanny, or anyone else except the rare times my husband was home in the evenings or on weekends. Was it hard? Absolutely. Would I do it over again? Absolutely!! These two don't have to attend to a set job schedule, have enough money to take a few years off to devote all their time to their children, and have plenty of options the rest of us don't have. I simply cannot put them on a pedastal for doing what many of the rest of us do every single day- take care of our kids without an army of others to cook, clean, change diapers, arrange schedules, drive to doctor's appointments and baseball games, or any of the myriad other responsibilities that come with parenting. If they went through fertility treatments to have these babies, that is even more reason why they should do what many of us would love to have done given the financial resources- put the careers on hold and cherish every moment.

With all their friends, family, publicists, agents, lawyers, cleaning service people, food service people, songwriters (it takes 12 people to write a JLo tune, right?), musicians, managers, hangers-on, hair people, stylists, make up people, I think they'll be fine. :) PS: Romes, I'm with you. I don't get the appeal of her to Marc. I love Marc Anthony. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE him...but she's just so self-centered and selfish and self-obsessed!

Everyone KNOWS she is NOT going to change diapers herself. She won't even breast feed for God's sake! They don't have a nanny right this second because she quit, but they'll find someone soon who either really needs the money or doesn't know what they're getting into...

This is getting ridiculous. People every single day (single and married) raise children without the help of a nanny and just because J.Lo and Marc Anthony are means they are Gods gift to earth!!!!? It bothers me so much when a celebrity or ordinary people think that not having a "nanny" around makes the fabulous parents ..it doesn't, so stopppppppp. wow, now that that is out, haha. MUCH BETTER

I put no, but not for that reason. Probably because J-Lo is so in love with herself that she wouldn't take care of her own children!

I heard that two of their nannies quit and now they have to do it themselves. She also asked her sister come over and baby sit. I don't believe it at all. I've always hated Jlo and liked Marc. She's such a diva.

I don't think anyone believes this for a second.I like J. Lo, but she needs to stop feeding the public this baloney.
