People in Shanghai are surely looking forward to this month being over, considering they've experienced the hottest July in 140 years. Residents in the Chinese city have taken to claustrophobic water parks and air-conditioned stores to beat the heat much like others around the world. In the UK, where sunshine replaced drizzle for much of July, the Brits helped drive up retail purchases when they went out to buy new seasonally appropriate clothing — goodbye trench coats! Although, it wasn't all sunny news for business. Irish airline Ryanair reported a drop in travel, since people no longer needed to escape the dreary weather at home.
