David Beckham arrived at London's Stanstead airport this morning on a private jet. He changed into a suit to report to 10 Downing Street, the home of British Prime Minister David Cameron. There, David advocated for on behalf of UNICEF's program for global child nutrition. David is a longtime UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.
He's in his hometown just before the Olympics begin tomorrow. David was actually in the UK earlier this month, too, but obligations with his soccer team, the LA Galaxy, brought him back to the States for a bit. David was just in Philadelphia, playing with the MLS All-Stars in a match against London's Chelsea. The next 24 hours will be busy ones for David. He's expected at the Sports For Peace charity gala, honoring Muhammad Ali, at the Victoria & Albert Museum. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are reportedly attending as well. David will also participate in tomorrow's opening ceremonies for the 2012 Olympics. David's role in the opening ceremony is under wraps, but he did say, "I'm really honored. I grew up on the side of London where the Olympics is happening. It's a proud moment for us, you know, East End boys."
