Diddy's Sorry About the Fur

Diddy's Sorry About the Fur

Diddy got his hand slapped after his Sean John line debuted in stores with real fur. He has since apologized and said he didn't realize it was real. He said "I was unaware of the nature of this material, but as soon as we were alerted, the garments were pulled off the MACY's floor and website. I have instructed our licensee to cease the production of any garment using this material immediately." Sounds like a good way to end the year Diddy. Maybe he's has softened up now that he has 2 new daughters.

Hi, The Humane Society of the US is the group that did this investigation. You can read about it, and watch the footage of how poorly the animals are treated (some of it is VERY VERY disturbing) at: http://furfree.hsus.org Also listed are ways to help. I think any time you can pick the less cruel option you should. And that means never picking a coat with fur trim. Isn't that reasonable?

SE - I do not WISH you bad Karma, I do not need to. You reap what you sow in this world. From your posts, I can tell that you are a very ugly (I don't mean just superficially) person who is trying to anger others like a child. I personally don't pity you, but I am sure others who know you do. That's it - I'm done responding to your posts. You don't matter enough.

Omg people can wear and eat whatever they want!!!! i personally do not have anything with real fur, but if i find a very nice fur coat or leather i would buy and wear it, why not, it doesnt make me or anyone a monster. Honestly i believe that animals exit for humans to use as resources, food products, clothing any materials...whatever you can get from them. And eating and wearing animal produces is not considered evil

yes Rebbecca- i also wear leather from "murdered" cows and i eat hamburgers, i wear "murdered" python purses, i eat "murdered" pigs pork...etc...i know what karma is, i just think it is funny that you think i will get BAD karma. i am living my life the way i choose to live it. how about a little more love and less hatred- i for one would never wish bad karma on someone i have never met...you would probably really like me! ps...i have never murdered anything or anyone... pss..i also eat rabbit meat

se, karma is something that happens when you do something wrong/bad. It catches up with you. You like to wear murdered animals on your back & laugh and brag about it? Good luck to you!! LOL!

It was tanuki fur, not dog. Tanuki is called "raccoon dog" in English but I think it's a misleading translation. The tanuki is a wild animal here in Asia that's no more like a domestic house dog than a fox or wolf is. Tanuki are cute from a distance, but they're a little scary. They're not like Fido and Spot, and I don't see why tanuki fur should be worse than any other kind just because of the word "dog" in the translation. Having said that, I am a vegetarian, and have mistakenly been served real meat instead of veggie burgers on a number of occasions. If you know what they're both supposed to look like, it's pretty easy to see the difference even without taking a bite. The difference between fake and real fur is even easier to see, and I'm not sure how anybody could make a mistake even if the label said "fake." Has real fur become so uncommon in the US that people no longer know how to identify it?

dvdsky81, dont worry- i wasnt directing my message to you. it was just a general statement/opinion. i can respect all opinions on fur- i am just sick of the haters (the girl who told me to expect bad karma cause she has rabbits!) thats funny!

Se, In my post I said "If I dont want to do it, that's my choice, but I dont have the right to tell others what they can and cannot do." Which means that whether I agree with it or not, I think it is a personal choice. So hopefully you weren't snapping at me, because if you were, re-read my post entirely, not just what you wanted to see. :)

dvdsky81 - thank you for your comment. This was one of the grossest story I've heard all year. se - I used to have pet rabbits. You are a sickening person. Karma will come your way one day - I have no doubt!

I can't believe it was dog fur. That is just sickening! I have to give him a little bit of slack though...the materials were labeled as "faux fur", so I think it is a honest mistake. If someone hands you a veggie burger and says it isn't beef, could you really tell that it wasn't any other meat product? When it comes to processed materials, you just have to trust the source that labels it. And I am sure he hires people to maintain quality of his materials. He might design the clothes, but I doubt that he does the day to day paperwork that would verify the source of fabric.

i think issue stems from the fact that the people who bought thought they were buying faux fur when in reality they were buying raccoon dog fur, which is an animal that resides in china and you guys have every right to wear fur but i have every right to say its disgusting i know he thinks you're fine and stuff but does he know how to wind you up?

please! enough with the fur issue. why dont people understand that wearing fur is a personal choice- and until it is against the law i will enjoy my rabbit fur coat and my wool coat with racoon fur trim! GORGEOUS!

"How is fur any different than slaughtering animals for the sole purpose of making leather goods???" It's not. Same exact thing. Im not a "PETA advocate" (in fact, I hate the bastards) but the fur and leather trade and extraction is pretty gruesome and totally uncalled for and not needed. There is a thing now called technology that has kept us from needing to use fur. A long time ago, fur was needed in order to keep warm, etc. Now, there are enough options available that make fur use unnecessary and now is just used for fashionable reasons. It's pretty selfish to slaughter an animal (a living being) to just soley be used for fashion purposes only. If the animal is also being used for a multitude of services such as food or whatnot as well as the fur, that's one thing and Im cool with that, but just for fashion...no. Fashion is not a necessity, regardless of what the media and fashion industry want us to believe. But on the other hand: "don't feel the need to be PC in an effort to conform to someone else's beliefs" I do agree with you there. But when it comes down to someone elses expense and harm, I myself, am not willing to participate-be it fur or leather. But I dont agree with people forcing others to conform to beliefs. If I dont want to do it, that's my choice, but I dont have the right to tell others what they can and cannot do. I would just like to see it (gruesome harm to animals/people,etc) minimalized and not just soley used for vanity purposes. And so what if he has 3 new daughters. That doesn't make him any less of a jackass, imo. Not because of the fur, but because of his oversized ego.

Who cares whether it was real fur or not?????? Seriously, people! How is fur any different than slaughtering animals for the sole purpose of making leather goods??? And it's a rhetorical question so I really don't need any PETA advocates giving me a laundry list of reasons. I just don't know why anyone would care that much if another person wears fur. I love it, personally and don't feel the need to be PC in an effort to conform to someone else's beliefs. It's just not that serious. Oh, and Diddy has three new daughters.

Didn's know it was real fur, my @ss. I hate him. He's an arrogant jackass and thinks the whole world should bow down to him...him and Kanye must be twins.

If the garments were already mass produced with the fur, what good does it do to pull them from the shelves?
