Fall TV Preview: Brothers & Sisters

Fall TV Preview: Brothers & Sisters

The highly anticipated drama, Brothers & Sisters premieres Sunday September 24th at 10/9c on ABC. The all-star cast aside for a moment, the real reason for all of the anticipation may be because of the real-life drama surrounding the show since the pilot was first shown to advertisers last May. The drama includes the firing of actress Betty Buckley who was originally cast as the matriarch of the Walker family and replacing her with television and movie veteran, Sally Field. This casting change as well as some other major plot changes necessitated re-filming almost the entire pilot this summer.

All the drama aside, the show, which tells the story of adult siblings living their respective lives in the shadow of their seemingly perfect parents, has an intriguing and original premise. This premise paired with the phenomenal cast makes it hard to imagine this show will fail. Notable cast members include Calista Flockhart in her first series since Ally McBeal as conservative talk show host, Kitty Walker. Rachel Griffiths (Six Feet Under) plays Sarah Walker, the high-powered executive who has just begun to work for the Walker Family business. Hottie Balthazar Getty (Alias) plays the younger brother who is being overshadowed by his older sister at work. Ron Rifkin (Alias) plays Saul Holden, Nora Holden's brother who is also a partner in the family business. And finally, Tom Skerritt plays William Walker the patriarch of the family, who as it turns out may not be as perfect as he would have his children believe.

The pilot we saw was the original and we enjoyed it very much. If the re-shot version is even better, we think this show definitely has staying power. The real question is, can we have two favorite shows with skinny whiny blonds and right now Grey's is #1 there.

Oh, but griffin you can TiVo everything that comes on and watch it anytime! I swear I TiVo'd the whole season of Windfall and had like 5 episodes I didn't watch. I was bored one morning and made my own Windfall marathon. It was great!

Another soap opera I don't have time or interest in following. The cast looks great but you can't spend your whole life in front of TV.

Speaking of skinny, whiny blondes and Grey's, Ellen Pompeo's hair was a ton darker last night! I forgot it used to be fairly blonde.
