Hey there, I'm Lauren Bradshaw. The 2012 Grammy nominations are in, and we're taking a look at the biggest snubs and surprises in today's PopSugar Rush. No one man should have all that power. Kanye West is the king of this year's Grammy awards. The nominations were announced last night during a special concert on CBS, and the hip-hop artist was at the top of the list with 7 nods. Lady Gaga opened the evening's show, partnering up with Sugarland on her hit, You and I. This time I'm not leaving. But it's the evening's honorees and snubs that have everyone talking this morning. For more on who was at the top of the list and who was noticeably absent, here is PopSugar editor Molly Goodman. Even though Kanye West is up for 7 Grammies, he's not nominated in the biggest category Album of the Year. It's a little disappointing to me, because I loved body My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and Watch the Throne. But, if you're worried about another onscreen outburst, Taylor Swift is also not nominated for Speak Now. Adele, however, is up in the Album of the Year category, and she earned 6 nominatons for her Smash Hit 21. I can feel the morning light, cause we like to party. I expected to feel a little more love for Beyonce's 4. It was such a huge album and she put out so many singles and videos, and in the end she was not nominated in the biggest categories. She did score one for her collaboration with Andre 3000 Party and another for her long-form video for the I Am World tour. Even so, I'm still really hoping she makes it to the show right after having her baby. The Bon Iver album was one of my personal favorites of the year, so I was so excited to see it nominated for in four categories. Hopefully, it'll help get his name out beyond those who just know him as one of Kanye's friends. The Grammy awards air February 12th on CBS.
