Photos: Gwyneth and Chris's Postbreakup Bahamas Trip

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin joined friends for dinner in the Bahamas on Friday, smiling and chatting from their corner of the table mere days after announcing their split in a joint statement. The husband and wife of 10 years traveled to the tropical locale before posting a headline-grabbing letter about their decision to "consciously uncouple" on Goop, Gwyneth's lifestyle blog, last week. According to reports, the actress and musician brought their children, Apple, 9, and Moses, 7, on the trip, although the kids weren't spotted at the dinner table.

Following Gwyneth and Chris's sad announcement, the outspoken actress has faced an onslaught of criticism for an interview she gave to E! News prior to the split. In her most recent of several unrelatable moments, Gwyneth compared her challenges as a mother to those of other moms. "I think it's different when you have an office job, because it's routine, and you know, you can do all the stuff in the morning, and then you come home in the evening. When you're shooting a movie, they're like, 'We need you to go to Wisconsin for two weeks,' and then you work 14 hours a day, and that part of it is very difficult. I think to have a regular job and be a mom is not as, of course, there are challenges, but it's not like being on set." The comments drew a backlash from working moms, one of whom penned an open letter for the New York Post, which quickly went viral last week.
