Pancreatic cancer is a deadly, terrible illness. Chemo likely bought him a few months, as pancreatic cancer is typically quickly fatal once it is discovered. Suzanne Somers has no idea what she is talking about, and should stop running her mouth. (And unlike Suzanne, I have an MD.)

Suzanne Somers should just shut the hell up and realize there's a time to make a statement about what you believe and a time to be quiet and let people mourn in peace.

I definitely see you point. And I know alternative methods have worked for her in the past, so I can see why she would advocate them.

Oh no, I only assuming, I have no idea if they are or not. If they are not, then I agree it isn't her place and that's not what the family needs to be hearing, even if they were it would be too much to share it in the media as opposed to around the coffee table after dinner. But if they are friends, I can understand her having to state it out of frustration and regret that they didn't try something else.

I haven't read anything recently (or ever) about them being friends, so I'm acting on the assumption that she wasn't his friend, but if something is making you think otherwise, let me know. I also don't think a friend would publicly disparage the treatment choices someone made so soon after his death. I guess I've seen/heard her make statements like this far too many times to think that this is similar to what you experienced.

I get what you are saying, but I'm guessing she was his friend, and seeing how my family has reacted to our situation, everyone, out of their frustration and love is saying what should have been done instead.

I just don't think it's her place to say what someone else should have done to treat his illness unless she has real knowledge of his specific medical case.

I can see where Suzanne is coming from, she is only sharing something she really believes based on her experiences. A relative of mine is battling a tumor right now and all chemo did was make her weaker and yes, basically poison her, even doctors are split, half say that is was right and half say that it lessened her chances of fighting and took away the option of surgery.

Suzanne Sommer needs to STFU.As far as Buddy being cremated - why is that news. It's private for family and friends. His mama Patsy is so gracious and lovely as is Lisa.

What worked for Suzanne doesn't necessarily mean that it will work for others. She should know that......My father died of the same type of cancer and no matter what type of medical or natural treatments Patrick had or did not have,it still would not have changed the outcome.

I agree, blondie.I'm all for alternative medicine when it's coupled with traditional medicine, but to advise others to forgo traditional medicine entirely (particularly in the case of cancer and other terminal illnesses) is irresponsible.

Suzanne Somers...chemotherapy could have saved my aunt who died of colon cancer. She chose against it... Be more responsible with your statements about medical care, unless you decide to get an MD.
