Helen Mirren might describe her character in The Hundred-Foot Journey as a bit of a "French b*tch," but when we sat down with the Oscar winner in LA recently, she also said that tough, Michelin-starred chef Madame Mallory was exactly the kind of woman she felt proud to play. We talked about why Oprah Winfrey, who coproduced the film alongside Steven Spielberg, served as a kind of "fairy godmother" on set. Helen also reflected on her unique connection to the British royals; not only has she played Queen Elizabeth II on the big screen, but she is also a dame. The Hundred-Foot Journey hits theaters on Aug. 8.
