Hugh Jackman Hopped Through His Entire Opening Number at the Tonys

Hugh Jackman put his muscles to good use during his opening number as host of the 2014 Tony Awards on Sunday night. The actor — who has hosted the Broadway award show three times before — hopped nearly the entire time during the opening bit, taking him through the back of the theater, up an elevator (with Neil Patrick Harris!), and back to the stage again. Of course, there were plenty of celebrity cameos along the way, including several Broadway nominees and Sting. Hugh's decision to hop wasn't random, it was actually an homage to the 1953 musical Small Town Girl. After he was done bouncing, the cast of After Midnight took over for an energetic medley of their songs, ending with Hugh coming out and doing a tap dance without showing any signs of fatigue.
