Jamie-Lynn Sigler is determined to make 2016 a powerful year. After tying the knot with professional baseball player Cutter Dykstra [1] on Saturday, the former Sopranos star is opening up about her 15-year battle with multiple sclerosis [2]. "I wasn't ready until now," she said on her decision to come forward. "You'd think that after all these years, somebody would be settled with something like this, but it's still hard to accept."

While the actress initially was symptom-free, over the past decade she has turned to MS drugs to keep her condition at bay. "Things are manageable now," she added. "It takes a fighting attitude to deal with all this. This disease can absolutely take over your life if you let it." But Jamie said her husband and their 2-year-old son [3], Beau, have given her the courage to be more open about her illness. "I'm at a point in my life with my son, with my new marriage, it's a new me. I don't want to hold a secret where it feels like I have something to be ashamed of or have something to hide. It's part of me, but it's not who I am."
