Jay Z surprised lots of Londoners on Saturday night when he traveled to his Magna Carta Holy Grail tour show by underground Tube. The hip-hop superstar was accompanied by manager Ty, record executive Michael Kyser, close friend Timbaland, and Coldplay's Chris Martin — the latter two both later joined him on stage at the O2 Arena. The group seemed to blend into the crowd, sharing laughs and sitting in the back of the train, but it wasn't long before bystanders and fans started to freak out on social media. One rider tweeted, "Coming off the tube and I see Jay Z casually walking up the next escalator next to me… EVERYONE GOES NUTS!!"
This is definitely not the first time Jay has been spotted taking public transportation to a gig. In December 2012, he famously hopped on the subway to get to a concert at Brooklyn's Barclays Center and ended up sitting next to unsuspecting NYC artist Ellen Grossman, who asked him, "Are you famous?" Their adorable conversation became a part of Jay's documentary, Where I'm From and resulted in a viral video.
