Hey there, I'm Karli Bulnes. Jennifer Lawrence calls The Hunger Games "powerful" while her costar considers a real-life battle on reality TV. It's all in today's PopSuar Rush. "You know you always try to before you make a movie you kind of think well what's the point in telling this story to the world and I just thought it was one of the most powerful messages we've received in this generation." Jennifer Lawrence spoke about The Hunger Games' significance while walking the red carpet at the movie's London premiere Wednesday evening. The 21-year-old leading lady wore her second gorgeous gold gown and updo of the week, though she let her hair down in a little black dress for an appearance on BBC Breakfast this morning. That's where she talked about her love for reality television and the possibility of programs one day resembling the brutal televised games in Panem. "A slightly pessimistic view of the future combined with just how extreme possibly reality TV can get do you watch much of it?/Yeah I do, I'm every part of the obsession." Ms. Lawrence's costar Lenny Kravitz recently opened up about the same topic in Interview magazine. Of the possibility of a real-life Hunger Games, the shirtless star said, [pull quote] "It sounds like a really far-fetched and politically incorrect statement at this point, but who knows how twisted we're going to get?" Violence is a basic element of The Hunger Games and Jennifer says the PG-13 film does do the book justice. "Unfortunately the violence and the brutality is kind of the heart of the movie because it has to make people angry enough to start an uprising. So if we watered down the violence and the brutality we would have watered down the entire theme of the movie." The Hunger Games opens in theaters in just over a week on Friday, March 23rd.
