Before "Ben and Jen" meant Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner [1], the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice actor was engaged to Jennifer Lopez [2], and their mid-2000s romance was the stuff of tabloid legend. For one of the first times in a while, the Shades of Blue [3] actress has opened up about what went down between them. "We just happened to be together at the birth of the tabloids, and it was like 'Oh my God.' It was just a lot of pressure," she said in an interview with People's Jess Cagle [4]. "I felt like . . . 'Okay, this is it.' [But] sometimes I feel like what you think people are and how you see them when you love them is different than when they reveal later."

After breaking up with Ben the day before they were supposed to get married, Jennifer moved on to Marc Anthony [5] and had twins Max and Emme [6] with him before getting divorced in 2011 [7]. Although the American Idol judge and Ben have long since gone their own ways [8], J Lo has had time to reflect on their relationship. "I think different time different thing, who knows what could've happened, but there was a genuine love there."
