Jessica Alba For Declare Yourself

Jessica Alba Wants You to Declare Yourself

Jessica Alba had tears in her eyes and tape over her mouth as the dramatic poster child for Declare Yourself. Jessica's trying to encourage young people to speak up by registering to vote. So far she's been actively involved in the Presidential Election, endorsing Obama and heading to the DNC and about this ad campaign she said,

"I really don’t see the point in not registering to vote. We sign up for MySpace pages and Facebook pages, and download music off the internet. The least people can do is register to vote online, actually making a difference in their world, not just making their lives a little bit cooler. It makes more sense to spend your time making a change in society—and it actually doesn’t take that much time! It takes more time to make a music playlist than it does to register to vote."

So what do you think of Jess's ad — totally effective or a little too much?

AMEN LEXI! My sentiments EXACTLY. I know I sound like a broken record, but CELEBRITIES SHOULD KEEP THEIR NOSES OUT OF POLITICS.

I'm an informed citizen of the US, one who doesn't need nor take advice from "celebrities." If you watch the news and most of the debates, you can make your mind up about whom you want to vote for. These type of endorsements only make young, undecided voters more vulnerable, and it's sad.

This would probably make more of an impact if it was coming from someone I believed. I don't buy that she tied herself up to silence herself, first off. Secondly, I don't believe that she means it. Her eyes say nothing (as usual). Go figure. I like the message: Only you can silence yourself. That's great, but it should have been executed better. Ah, well...............

Jessica Alba has such a stale face. Can't inject any emotion even in this advert.

personally, I do not think people should vote just because. You should vote if you honestly believe in the candidate you are voting for. I think people need to know what the candidate is about and what they propose. Honestly, I did not vote in my first eligable election because I really knew nothing about politics. 13 years later, I think I am more educated and I can vote for the person I feel understands the changes that need to be made. Secondly, Jessica Alba is like vanilla ice cream, she is so bland and I think they could of used a better spokesperson.

I kinda like it! But it's a little OTT, I mean without knowing what it was for, I would have thought it was about child abuse or something like that...

I agree with Jessica. The worst is if the younger generations wanting to be compensated for voting, like a free iPod or something.

The only purpose I see in getting people to vote is to get society loafers to take part in something. I only vote if there is someone worth voting for. If it's the lesser of two evils then I'm not voting for either one. *On a side note: I'm reading the comments and wondering who she hit with her car while driving under the influence, who's man she stole, what awful cds/movies did she consistently(oh that Jessica Simpson) put out or some other crime against society at large did she commit...in other words, what has she done besides be pretty and content?

I like it because it is getting the point across that everyone needs to register and go out and vote for a change.

I love her and I love this add. She is absolutely right about the myspace and facebook. we need to stand up for a change and register to vote and actually go out and vote.

I don't think it's over the top at all! What is so hard to believe is the percentage of 18yr. old's and up that just flat out refuse to register! Really!?? It takes a real moron not to want anything to do with who is leading what in this Country; and the more disgusting thing about that is they are usually the ones' to complain about our economy or anything in America.
