Jessica Simpson Has Some Words For Her Weight Critics

One of the reasons Jessica Simpson is beloved all around the world is because of her ability to speak her mind, especially when it's about sensitive issues. The Weight Watchers spokeswoman recently opened up about the media's reaction to her weight fluctuations over the years in the February issue of Redbook. When talking about those infamous high-waisted jeans that she wore during a concert in 2009 (which subsequently got her attacked in the press for looking overweight), Jessica did not hold back in slamming her critics, saying, "What's so unbelievable is that I was probably at least 15 pounds smaller than I am right now. What's more unbelievable is that the press could create something like that out of a pair of jeans . . . what woman wants to be brought down for wearing a pair of jeans?"

Jessica also addressed the reactions to her weight gain during her first pregnancy with baby Maxwell and her second pregnancy with her newest addition, Ace. "I never listen to it, no matter who the press talks about when they're pregnant," she said. "It's ridiculous and unfair. I think any woman who is pregnant and creating a life is pretty much entitled to eat whatever she wants as long as she's healthy. I wasn't going to let the media take away from what was one of the happiest times in my life."

Of course, Jessica didn't only talk about the media's reaction to her weight; she also got candid about her relationship with Eric Johnson. "I've learned that sometimes love is not enough," she said. "You can have a soul mate and be madly in love with that person, but it's not necessarily enough. I think you have to have personalities that mesh well. You have to be the yin to their yang. You also have to be open to figuring things out together and communicating even when it's the last thing you want to do. I have to admit, it doesn't hurt that Eric is one of the hottest men I've ever seen and he looks amazing naked!”
