Johnny Depp was welcomed to NYC's Union Square Barnes & Noble last night. He was in LA earlier this week shooting The Lone Ranger, but traveled to the East Coast to support Damien Echols's new book, Life After Death. Nichols, a former death row inmate, was part of the West Memphis Three, who were recently released from prison after wrongfully serving 18 years in prison. This isn't the first time Johnny stepped out to support Nichols — he traveled to Canada just last month for the TIFF premiere of West of Memphis. While Johnny spent time in the Big Apple, a tragedy occurred on the set of The Lone Ranger. A Lone Ranger crew member died yesterday after he was found unresponsive in a large tank while prepping for an underwater scene.
