President Barack Obama nominated judge Merrick Garland for the Supreme Court, and many think it's a strategic move on Obama's part. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has vowed to refuse to consider a Supreme Court nominee until the next president takes office, but this nomination might make that difficult.
