By now, most people are used to celebrities giving their children unique names, but even the most seasoned star watcher may have been a bit surprised at Kate Winslet's decision to name her son Bear Blaze. Well, Kate knows this, and she explained the reason behind the name when she stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show for an interview that will air later today. "A friend of mine when I was younger was nicknamed Bear, and I just had always really loved it," Kate told Ellen. "And he was very much a bear. He was everyone’s shoulder to cry on, he was a big bear hug, he was a great figure in my life, and I just had always remembered him, and so that’s where it came from. And then Bear’s second name is Blaze because my husband (Ned Rocknroll) and I met in a house fire basically." Kate famously escaped a devastating fire on Richard Branson's private island back in 2011. (Ned is Richard's nephew and was staying on the island at the time of the fire.) Of course, Bear's dad also has a curious last name, which Kate also had to explain to Ellen. Watch Kate discussing her men's names and her reaction to being in her first earthquake yesterday.
