Kerry Washington looked stunning in a low-cut Max Mara dress on the red carpet at the Women in Film Crystal + Lucy Awards in LA on Wednesday night, marking her first major public appearance since giving birth to daughter Isabelle back in April. The Scandal star joined fellow celebrities like Cate Blanchett, Rose Byrne, Eva Longoria, and Maggie Gyllenhaal at the event and was all smiles while posing for photos with actress Diahann Carroll and writer Shonda Rhimes. Kerry was honored with the Lucy Award for excellence in television thanks to her role as Olivia Pope on the hit ABC drama and was also recognized for her offscreen achievements during the ceremony. In a new interview with Hollywood Reporter, Kerry touched on her philanthropic duties, saying, "I love being of service, especially with regard to arts advocacy and the President's Committee on the Arts and Humanities."
Kerry seems to be getting back to work since welcoming baby Isabelle with her husband, Nnamdi Asomugha. Already this week, she participated in a live chat with the LA Times and answered fan questions about Scandal's third season. When asked about her newest role as a mom, the notoriously private Kerry said that she feels "really blessed," adding, "I am living extraordinary dreams come true in my work life and in my personal life." Luckily we'll get to see much more of Kerry this month, as it was recently announced that she'll be attending the BET Awards in LA on June 29. For now, keep reading to see photos of Kerry's postbaby appearance at the Crystal + Lucy Awards.
