Yes, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Really Hung Out With President Obama

Kim Kardashian's latest flashback picture practically has the presidential seal of approval. That's because President Barack Obama not only posed for the snap with the reality star and Kanye West, but also signed it. "To Kanye & Kim — Thanks for the support and best wishes to you [and] your lovely daughter! Barack Obama," the short note reads. Meanwhile, Kim had even less to say: "#FBF POTUS," she captioned the Instagram. Although details are scarce, the picture is believed to have been taken when the trio got together in October. Kanye confirmed the gathering on Twitter in November, writing, "Me and my wife met with President Obama two weeks ago."

The smiley meeting seems to have signaled a fresh start for the couple and the commander in chief. President Obama has referred to Kanye as a "jackass" on two occasions, a topic Kanye addressed during a radio interview in 2013. "People was fine with me being everyone's punching bag for about five years," he said. "'This is the person we love to hate, so if you want to distract people from everything that's going on, just say you hate Kanye, and there's going be 30 other people who say they hate Kanye. That was kind of my position in culture, and he kind of used that, too — 'Oh, he's a jackass,' because that's how the world felt." Kanye later compared Kim to First Lady Michelle Obama during a chat with Ryan Seacrest, saying, "She's like the most intriguing woman right now. She's got Barbara Walters calling her like every day . . . and collectively we're the most influential with clothing. No one is looking at what [President] Obama is wearing. Michelle Obama cannot Instagram a pic like what my girl Instagrammed the other day."
