Lena Dunham and her mom, filmmaker Laurie Simmons, hosted an event called "Mother and Daughter: The Voices of Two Generations" at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, MA, yesterday. The duo showed Lena's 2010 film Tiny Furniture in the auditorium and followed up the screening with a Q&A. Lena's year is off to a good start, as she's been enjoying the success of her hit series, Girls, which is currently in its second season. The cast picked up a Golden Globe award for best comedy or musical last month, and HBO recently announced that it has renewed the show for a third season. Lena also signed on to write another series for the network, based on the memoir of fashion industry icon Betty Halbreich.
