Martha Stewart Discusses Jessica Losing Daisy — Insensitive or Realistic?

Jessica Simpson has been staying hopeful in the aftermath of her beloved dog Daisy being snatched by a coyote right in front of her, and Martha Stewart recently shared her two cents on the situation. Martha said,

"It's pretty sad. . . She should have watched it more closely, though. She should have been more careful."

Martha's no stranger to pet drama of her own, after her own pup Chow Chow died in a freak propane explosion earlier this year. One might think Martha would be more sympathetic after experiencing loss of her own, but tell us what you think — were Martha's comments insensitive or realistic?

Obviously she didn't have to direct her rant directly at Jessica. She could easily have provided information about ways to protect your dogs from coyotes. Problem solved, and she wouldn't look like a catty teenager.

I heard she was in Brazil when this happened! So how would she know what animals live in the area?!?

Wow some of these comments have left me absolutely speechless. I don't care for Jessica either but I wouldn't wish what she had to watch happen to Daisy on my worst enemy.I don't doubt for a minute that she loved that dog with all her heart and I'm betting she's probably spent many, many hours since then blaming herself for what happened. There's really no need to kick her in the azz when she's already down and suffering such a horrendous loss....

I'd be devastated and I feel so sad for her! I never leave my bichon out for long periods of time because I am afraid he will be attacked by something and I live in the east.I have seen some big raccoons and a few coyotes.

I'm not a Jessica fan, but my heart breaks for her in this situation. It's so hard to lose a pet. She may be irresponsible, but she clearly adored that dog and is probably going through such a hard time right now. PinkNC and jessred86, shame on you for being so insensitive and cruel. May people offer no empathy to you in your times of need.

I'm not a Jessica Simpson fan but it was clear from photographs that she loved her dog Daisy. I can't imagine anyone having to witness a coyote dragging their pet away, what a horrible image to have to replay in your mind. My heart goes out to her, she must be devastated. People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones....ahem..... Martha.

I agree RoaringSilence... And how DISGUSTING of you, PinkNC. To even think that is an absolute disgrace, SHAME ON YOU! That's evil.

It doesn't even matter whether Martha told the truth or not.. there is something called tact.

Insensitive! "Chow Chow died in a freak propane explosion earlier this year"... especially insensitive after this! What advice would she give herself? Don't let dogs go around propane tanks?

It seems that Jessica loves to throw away everything and everyone in her life that’s kind to her, but also needs her to become responsible for a long amount of time. So maybe that little dog was getting into her way too much as she was traveling. It would not surprise me at all if that dog was neglected on purpose. It could have been placed in an area where Jessica knew it may be harmed. Responsibility can be a b*tch for immature people. And Martha’s comment doesn’t bother me at all.
